W. W. Boyce Farmers’ Market has been serving the Fredericton community since 1951. It opens year-round; every Saturday from 6 a.m. until 1 p.m. Hearty breakfast, delicious hot & cold beverages, baked treats, fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as local meats and seafood etc. You name it, they have it!

Looks like many stores selling ready made food huh? The farmers’ market here sell mostly everything raw. Farmers’ market only runs once a month, first Sunday of the month. The stuff they sell are more expensive then the paddy market.
Besides the farmers’ market there’s this paddy market (more like wet market) that runs from thursdays to sundays that sells everything including clothings, bags, fruits, vege, fish, meat etc. More like a pasar malam in malaysia but it operates from 9am-5pm here. Do you get wet market in Fredericton? Or do you shop in the supermarket?

Ai Shiang,
Raw food is available at the farmers’ market too. Farmers’ market is somewhat like the wet market in Malaysia. The “wet” section is probably restricted to meat and seafood section only. Paddy market sounds like a nice place to visit.
There’s a meat market (opens daily) that I usually get my meat, veggies, and fruits from. Sometimes supermarket too. What about yourself?

I usually shop on Saturdays. Buy most groceries at the paddy market except those like toilet rolls or soy sauce, or milo which I have to get them at the supermarket. Prices at the paddy market is a fraction of those at the supermarkets. Veggie, fruits, fish and some meat types are normally 50-60% more expensive at the supermarkets.
Sometimes, I do buy meat from those butchers in Chinatown, they’re quite reasonable and open 7 days a week. Does Fredericton have a chinatown? What’s the number of population there? Do you get many Asians around?

Oh how I miss samosa!!! :D, man these are good! I must say that it’s now the perfect season to go to the farmers’ market.

Ai Shiang,
It’s nice to have a Chinatown around. Unfotunately, it’s nowhere to be seen in Fredericton. The population is around 50,000. There are more Asians here than a few years ago.

Pierre,
Samosas are delicious. Hopefully you can get them at where you live ;)
